2-17-5: CHIEF OF POLICE; REPORTS:
   (A)   Annual Reports: The chief of police shall, at the first meeting of the board of trustees in May of each year, make an annual report in writing to the president and board of trustees of the operations of the police department for the preceding fiscal year, with such statistics and suggestions in regard to the requirements of said department as he may deem advisable; and shall also make reports of any matter or thing concerning such department whenever requested by the village manager or the president or board of trustees.    (B)   Reports Of Arrests, Convictions, Fines: It shall be the duty of the chief of police to report to the village manager the names of all persons arrested or committed to jail, bridewell or house of correction and to keep a record of the names of all such persons in a book or books or permanent file to be provided for such purpose. Such record shall show the date of arrest or committal, the number of days imprisoned, the amount of fine, when and to whom paid and the date of discharge or other disposition of such person.    (C)   Reports Generally: The chief of police shall report or cause to be reported to the village manager or to the department having control of all cases where buildings or structures may be in process of erection prior to the issuance of a permit, all cases of unlawful obstruction of streets, alleys and other public grounds, all cases of unsanitary conditions, all defects or dangerous conditions in sidewalks, streets, sewers, water mains, street lighting, public buildings or public utilities requiring repairs or emergency attention for the protection of the public. He shall maintain a record of such reports. (1965 Code, Sec. 12.18)
