2-17-2: LINE OF COMMAND:
The chief of police shall be in command of the police department, the lieutenant of police designated as assistant police chief shall be second in command, the other lieutenant of police shall be third in command, and the sergeants of police in the order designated by the chief of police or, in his absence, by the lieutenant designated as assistant police chief shall be next in command. (Ord. 2177, 2-3-1997)
