The police department shall consist of the director of public safety, who concurrently holds the office of chief of police, as well as such deputy police chief(s), other supervising officers, patrolmen and/or auxiliary police, and such other officers and employees as the president and board of trustees may from time to time determine to be necessary. All said members of the police department except the auxiliary police and other officers and employees shall be considered officers of the village. (Ord. 2177, 2-3-1997; amd.
