2-13-7: REMOVAL OF PROPERTY:
The officer in command at a fire shall have power to cause the removal of any property whenever it shall become necessary for the preservation of said property from fire, or to prevent the spreading of fire or to protect adjoining properties. No person shall take away any property in the possession of the fire department and salvaged from any fire until proof of ownership be made, satisfactory to the fire chief or officer in command.
