2-10-8: EMERGENCY INTERIM SUCCESSION OF OFFICERS:
In the event that any officer of this Village as hereinafter set forth is unable or unavailable to exercise the powers and duties of his or her office, such powers and duties shall be discharged by the emergency interim successor in the order designated below until such time as a vacancy which may exist shall be filled in accordance with the Emergency Interim Executive Succession Act (5 ILCS 275/1, et seq.):
   (A)   Successor To The Village President:
         1.   Village Trustee in accordance with seniority in office.
   2.   Village Manager.
      3.   Village Clerk.
   (B)   Successor To The Village Manager:
      1.   Assistant Village Manager.
      2.   Director of Finance.
      3.   Director of Public Safety.
   (C)   Successor To The Village Clerk:
      1.   Village Manager.
      2.   Director of Finance.
      3.   Senior department head.
   (D)   Successor To The Director Of Finance:
      1.   Village Manager.
      2.   Assistant Village Manager.
      3.   Village Clerk.
   (E)   Successor To Fire Chief:
      1.   Deputy Fire Chief.
      2.   Battalion Chief - Station 1.
      3.   Battalion Chief - Station 2.
   (F)   Successor To Chief Of Police:
      1.   Deputy Chief of Police.
      2.   Police lieutenant.
      3.   Police sergeant in accordance with seniority in rank.
   (G)   Director Of Emergency Services:
      1.   Deputy Fire Chief.
      2.   Deputy Chief of Police.
      3.   Village Manager.
   (H)   Director Of Public Works:
      1.   Public Works Superintendent.
      2.   Village Forester.
