2-1-4: APPOINTMENT; TERMS; VACANCIES:
Except as otherwise provided herein, all members of boards, commissions and committees shall be appointed by the President by and with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees. Members of the Public Library Board shall be elected as provided in chapter 18 of this title, and members of the Foreign Fire Insurance Tax Board shall be elected as provided in title 3, chapter 12 of this Code. The respective terms of office of such members shall be as provided in the respective chapter pertaining thereto. The Chair of all boards, commissions, and committees other than the Public Library Board and Foreign Fire Insurance Tax Board shall be appointed by the President for one year terms commencing June 1 of each year. The President may remove the Chair and appoint a new Chair at any time prior to the end of the one year term with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees. Vacancies occurring before the end of a term shall be filled as in the case of the original appointment. In this regard any appointed member of a board, commission or committee who is absent from fifty percent (50%) of the regularly scheduled meetings held during a year without formal approval of such board, commission or committee shall be considered to have resigned and the President, upon written notice thereof by the particular board, commission or committee, shall appoint a new member to fill such vacancy.
