The following shall be the procedures followed for a proposed amendment to the zoning map. Said proposed zoning map amendment shall be classified as a "rezone request".
A. Initiation: A rezone request may be initiated by the planning commission, the city council, or by any person, firm or corporation or agent of said person, firm or corporation owning the real property in the city which is the subject of the rezone request.
B. Notice, Publication Requirements: All rezone requests shall satisfy the notice and publication requirements established by the laws of this state, and shall first be presented to the planning commission for its recommendations, which shall be returned to the city council for its consideration within thirty (30) days, as set forth at section 10-1-5 of this title.
C. Form: The form (hereinafter the "application") used to request a rezone shall be adopted by resolution of the city council. (1985 Code § 19-1a-1)
