The city council may provide premises and facilities to be used as an animal shelter for the care, treatment and humane destruction of dogs and other animals required to be kept or destroyed by this chapter or laws of the state. In lieu thereof, the city council may contract with any other municipality or agency, public or private, for the furnishing of such services. (Ord. 619, 6-17-2003)
