A certain document, two (2) copies of which are on file in the office of the community development director, being marked and designated as the international fire code, 2015 edition, including appendix chapters, as published by the International Code Council, be and is hereby adopted as the code of Riverdale City for regulating and governing the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings or premises in Riverdale City and providing for the issuance of permits for hazardous uses or operations; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, conditions and terms of such international fire code, published by the International Code Council, on file in the office of the community development director, are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this chapter; provided, however, that any person who violates this code shall be guilty of a class B misdemeanor and upon conviction such person shall be punished as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code.
