3-8-5: USE REGULATIONS:
   A.   All vending carts must be a factory built unit from a company that specializes in the manufacturing of portable carts, and shall be maintained in good condition and repair. "Home-made" carts shall not be allowed; and
   B.   Only a single product type may be sold; and
   C.   A separate business license application is required for each location; and
   D.   A permit is valid for one cart per location; and
   E.   Vendors are required to maintain a commercial general liability insurance policy with minimum limits of liability of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00) per occurrence for bodily injury, personal injury and property damage naming Riverdale City as an additional insured; and
   F.   Portable vending carts must be placed on a hard surface, such as: concrete, asphalt or pavers designated for such; and
   G.   Vending carts are not permitted on public property without written permission from the city council, and must meet the following requirements: be a minimum of ten feet (10') from a building entrance; ten feet (10') from a fire hydrant; thirty feet (30') from a public street right of way; thirty feet (30') from adjacent property; not in front of any building opening (door, window, intake or exhaust vent); not in any parking space; shall not reduce ramps or sidewalks to a clear width of less than five feet (5'); and shall not interfere with or obstruct the free flow of pedestrian traffic or access to businesses; and
   H.   Signage shall be attached to the vending cart; all portable and permanent signs, which are not attached, are prohibited; and
   I.   Vending cart hours of operation are from ten o'clock (10:00) A.M. to ten o'clock (10:00) P.M. Vending carts shall not remain outside on site except during these hours; and
   J.   Vendors shall provide trash receptacles adjacent to the vending cart. Trash, refuse and debris shall be removed from the location each day, and the pad kept clean; and
   K.   Vendors shall not leave a vending cart unattended; and
   L.   Vendors shall not solicit or conduct business with any person in a motor vehicle; and
   M.   Vendors shall not use any noise or sound producing device that attracts attention to its operation. (Ord. 604, 2-19-2002)
