§ 618.18 PROHIBITING THE KEEPING OF CERTAIN ANIMALS.
   (a)   Definitions. For the purpose of this section, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
      (1)   ANIMAL. Any living creature (other than a human being), including any animal, bird, reptile, fish, livestock or poultry.
      (2)   BEE APIARY. Any place where one or more colonies or nuclei of bees are kept.
      (3)   EXOTIC ANIMAL.
         A.   Carnivore other than dog or cat;
         B.   Venomous reptile;
         C.   Hoofed animal not defined as livestock; or
         D.   Other animal not domesticate or native to the area, the keeping of which can pose a danger to other animals or humans.
      (4)   LIVESTOCK. Any horse, donkey, cow, goat, pig, sheep or any similar hoofed animal.
      (5)   POULTRY. Any chicken, duck, goose, turkey or similar bird.
   (b)   If so residence has any of the above mentioned animals, they shall be grandfathered in but shall obey the rules of this section once they have gotten rid of such animals listed above.
   (c)   Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor, and shall be fined not more than $150. Each day the violation continues shall be treated as a separate offense. If a person has been previously convicted of a violation of this section, the subsequent violation shall constitute a misdemeanor of the first degree.
