(a) Parking on street lawn areas shall be permitted under the conditions noted in division (b) below. For purposes of definition,
STREET LAWN shall be defined as the area along village streets between the asphalt or paved or stoned portion of the roadway, and the legal street width as recorded in the County Recorder’s office. This area is also sometimes referred to as a BOULEVARD.
(b) Two conditions must exist for street lawn parking to be allowed in a given area. Specifically, the following.
(1) The owner of the lot and/or land abutting the proposed parking area must have given his or her permission. If the abutting property is a rental property, permission of the tenant leasing said property is necessary.
(2) The proposed area must be suitable and appropriately maintained as a parking area, that is with stone, asphalt, paving, brimstone or the like. No parking on grass.
(c) Any existing parking ordinances are still in full force and effect, such as snow emergency and existing street lawn parking ordinances.
