§ 33.002 PURCHASING AGENCY, AGENTS.
   (A)   The Board of Commissioners hereby determines that the purchasing agency for the county shall be the Board of Commissioners of the county.
   (B)   The Board of Commissioners hereby designates the following elected and appointed positions to serve as purchasing agents for the county:
      (1)   Board of Commissioners of the county;
      (2)   All elected officials (Assessor, Auditor, Clerk, Circuit Court Judge, Coroner, Council members, Prosecutor, Recorder, Sheriff, Superior Court Judge, Surveyor, Treasurer); and
      (3)   Deputy purchasing agents:
         (a)   Chief Deputy, County Sheriff;
         (b)   President, Board of Trustees, County Department of Parks and Recreation;
         (c)   President, County Convention, Recreation and Tourism Commission;
         (d)   Superintendent, County Highway Department;
         (e)   Extension agents, County Cooperative Extension Service;
         (f)   Executive Director, County Area Planning Commission;
         (g)   County Health Officer, County Health Department; and
         (h)   Such other county employees as are designated from time to time.
   (C)   The deputy purchasing agents shall be limited to purchases less than $25,000.
   (D)   The county will prepare rules and a policy to cover aspects of purchasing as allowed by I.C. 5-22 et seq., as amended, which may apply to all purchases generally or to a specific purchase as stated in the solicitation for the purchase, and this policy statement also may be amended, in whole or in part from time to time, as the Board of Commissioners determines appropriate.
   (E)   The section is effective upon passage.
