§ 156.061 BUILDING PERMIT REQUIRED; PERSONS RESPONSIBLE.
   Before any construction of a building (requiring a building permit) takes place, the owner, builder, contractor or agent thereof shall obtain all proper permits and a building permit. In the event that a building permit is not obtained prior to construction, such construction and failure to obtain a building permit shall be a violation of this chapter and Executive Director, or the Building Inspector at the Executive Director’s direction, may issue a stop-work order on said construction and require removal of said construction. The owner or tenant of any building or structure, premises or part thereof, and any building, contractor or agent thereof who commits, participates in, assists in or maintains such violation may each be found guilty of a separate offense and suffer the penalties set forth in § 156.999 of this chapter.
