§ 34.08 MANDATORY EMPLOYMENT OF ABLE-BODIED PERSONS SEEKING POOR RELIEF.
   (A)   Under the provisions of I.C. 12-2-1-10, there is hereby established a program in the county, providing for mandatory employment of able-bodied persons seeking poor relief.
   (B)   The purpose of this section is to mandate that all of those able-bodied persons who receive poor relief from township trustees in the county shall do any work required by said trustee or for the Board of Commissioners of the county who shall administer said program on behalf of said trustees pursuant to the provisions of I.C. 12-2-1-10, a copy of which is attached to the ordinance codified herein and incorporated herein.
   (C)   Hereafter, the names of all of those persons who receive poor relief from township trustees in the county shall be forwarded to the Board of Commissioners of the county or its designated representative, who shall determine those persons eligible to be required to work in exchange for the poor relief payments and determine the manner, type and amount of work required.
   (D)   The poor relief recipients that are required to work under this program shall be required to do an amount of work which equals the value of assistance received by him or her, at an hourly rate equal to the federal minimum wage rate.
   (E)   All work performed under this section is considered as satisfaction of a condition for poor relief and is not as services performed for remuneration.
   (F)   This section shall be in full force and effect on 6-6-1983.
