§ 165.288 STORAGE TANK STANDARDS.
   The intent of this storage tank standards section is to protect the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the zoning jurisdiction of the city by requiring outdoor storage tanks to meet certain criteria.
   (A)   SR-01: residential, neighborhood commercial and central business storage tank standards.
      (1)   Generally. This storage tank standards division (A) applies to the following zoning districts: R1; R2; R3; UR; M1; M2; MP; NC; and CB. The following standards apply.
      (2)   Prohibited. Outdoor storage tanks or drums shall not be permitted, except for fuel oil and LP gas tanks used for home energy (e.g., heating).

   (B)   SR-02: parks and recreation storage tank standards. This storage tank standards division (B) applies to the following zoning district: PR. The following standards apply.
      (1)   Project applicability. Any new outdoor storage tanks or drums installed after the effective date of this unified development chapter shall be permitted if all of the following standards are met.
      (2)   Permits. An improvement location permit shall be required prior to the installation of new outdoor storage tanks or drums.
      (3)   Prerequisite criteria. No liquid or gas fuel shall be stored in bulk above ground, except tanks or drums connected directly to energy generating devices or heating appliances located and operated on the same lot as the tanks or drums.
      (4)   Setbacks.
         (a)   Front yard. Outdoor storage tanks and drums shall not be permitted in front yards.
         (b)   Side and rear yard. Outdoor storage tanks and drums shall be setback at least 30 feet from side and rear property lines.
         (c)   Structures. Outdoor storage tanks and drums shall be setback at least 30 feet from primary structures and 15 feet from accessory structures.
      (5)   Quantity. No lot shall have more than two outdoor storage tanks or drums.
      (6)   Cross-reference. Outdoor storage tanks and drums shall meet all applicable state and federal regulations.

   (C)   SR-03: non-residential storage tank standards. This storage tanks standards division (C) applies to the following zoning districts: AG; IA; UV; IS; LC; GC; OC; HC; EP; IC; I1; I2; and HI. The following standards apply.
      (1)   Project applicability. Any new outdoor storage tanks or drums installed after the effective date of this unified development chapter shall be permitted if all of the following standards are met.
      (2)   Permits. An improvement location permit shall be required prior to the installation of new outdoor storage tanks or drums.
      (3)   Setbacks.
         (a)   Front yard. Outdoor storage tanks and drums shall not be permitted in front yards.
