(a) Employees required to serve on jury duty in a court of competent jurisdiction shall continue to receive their regular rate of pay from the City during said jury duty.
(b) Employees serving on jury duty shall return to the City any and all compensation received as a result of the required jury duty service.
(c) Employees who are required to appear in courts of competent jurisdiction for reasons outside of the scope of their employment with the City, other than jury duty, may be granted vacation leave or an excused absence without pay, provided that:
(1) Documentation of the requirements to appear in the Court in the form of a subpoena is provided to the employee’s supervisor; and
(2) The request for said leave is made in writing to the employee’s immediate supervisor at least forty-eight hours in advance of the required court appearance.
