(a) The positions of handicraft instructors, playground instructors, youth instructors, pool personnel, adult education course instructors and bus drivers are hereby established and all appointments thereto shall be made by the Mayor.
(b) There is hereby established in the Recreation Department the position of Assistant to the Recreation Director, who shall be appointed by the Mayor and shall perform such duties as the Director requires. The Assistant shall receive such compensation as Council may designate from time to time.

(c) It is hereby established in the Recreation Department the position of Recreation Coordinator, who shall be appointed by the Mayor and under the direct supervision of the Director of Recreation. The Recreation Coordinator shall receive such compensation as the Mayor shall determine within the pay scale as established by City Council from time to time. The principal responsibilities of the Recreation Coordinator are:
(1) Working under the supervision of the Director of Recreation to develop, promote, and maintain the City’s recreation programs for all ages;
(2) Planning and coordinating of current programs;
(3) Implementing new programs and events;
(4) Overseeing maintenance and development of parks and sports fields;
(5) Routine administrative office duties;
(6) Promotion and advertisement of recreation programs;
(7) Processing of registration and participation fees for all recreation programs;
(8) Purchasing items from vendors;
(9) Scheduling and coordinating use of the City’s Kiwanis Lodge;
(10) Scheduling and coordinating gym and room rentals at Richmond Heights Schools;
(11) Communicating with other departments of the City with respect to the Department of Recreation programs, facilities and the maintenance thereof;
(12) Producing the City’s news letter; and
(13) Any other duties as prescribed by the Mayor, Council or the Director of Recreation.
