The duties and responsibilities of the Director of Public Service shall be as follows:
(a) Be directly responsible to the Mayor.
(b) Maintain efficient operation of Service Department.
(c) Submit and operate within an approved budget for the Service Department.
(d) Be responsible for scheduling and work of all personnel in the Service Department.
(e) Be responsible for both sanitary and storm sewer maintenance within the City.
(f) Coordinate all administrative responsibilities for the Service Department.
(g) Approve all purchase requests for the Service Department, submit to Mayor and Finance Director.
(h) Be responsible for the preparation of specifications for all biddable commodities and/or services for the Service Department.
(i) Be responsible for all public buildings.
(j) Be responsible for all public lighting of streets.
(k) Be responsible for all collection and disposal of City rubbish, garbage and other refuse in coordination with private trash collectors and work cooperatively on all recycling efforts undertaken by the City.
(l) Be responsible for maintenance and repair of public streets, sidewalks, ditches and bridges.
(m) Be responsible for cleaning all public streets and curbs.
(n) Evaluate and maintain personnel files of all Service Department personnel.
(o) Be responsible for snow removal of all public streets.
(p) Be responsible for all public utilities within the City.
(q) Be responsible for reports and all contact with both the Federal and State environmental protection agencies.
