The purpose of the Committee shall be to:
(a) Upon request, advise the Council, the Mayor, and City staff on designated matters concerning the purchase, sale, or implementation of items of a highly technological or scientific nature.
(b) Present new technology which will improve the efficiency of government, the well-being of citizens, or reduce the cost of doing Municipal business.
(c) Give opinions covering a wide-range of technological and scientific topics on a case-by-case basis as requested by the Council, the Mayor or City staff.
(d) When the subject under review is outside the technological or scientific knowledge and/or experience of Committee members, the Council may authorize experts in the specific field to be sought out and consulted.
(e) Develop ideas and strategies to enhance the technological advancement of the City and its citizens.
(f) Make an annual report to the Council in December of each year.
