(a) The position of part-time police officer is hereby established.
(b) The Mayor shall appoint all part-time police officers of the Division of Police.
(c) The part-time police officer shall perform such duties and assignments as are specifically assigned or prescribed by the Chief of Police.
(d) Any person appointed as part-time police officer shall have such powers of law enforcement and arrest and authority to bear arms as are accorded to full-time members of the Division of Police provided, however, that the position of part-time police officer shall be in the unclassified service and not subject to the rules and regulations of the Civil Service Commission.
