Adherence to safety precautions and rules is ideally a matter of voluntary compliance for all employees. In the absence of adherence to established standards, it is the obligation of an employee who is the initial observer of another employee who is working in an unsafe manner to inform his or her immediate supervisor of the unsafe work behavior.
