1515.03 MARKING OF FIRE LANES.
   (a)    All fire lanes shall be marked with a sign reading "FIRE LANE NO PARKING NO STOPPING" and shall be provided at all normal and emergency access points to a structure, within ten feet of any hydrant, sprinkler connection, standpipe connection, or other connection to fire protective equipment located within the fire lane, and every thirty linear feet within the fire lane. All fire lane signs shall be permanently mounted at an appropriate height to be clearly visible from vehicles traveling in the fire lane. No fire lane sign shall be mounted higher that six feet from grade level. Any non-conforming sign shall be corrected.
   (b)    In addition to the above fire lane signs, each piece of fire protective equipment that is located in a fire lane shall be marked with a sign reading "FIRE EQUIPMENT DO NOT BLOCK" or other approved wording. All signs shall be permanently mounted at an appropriate height to be clearly visible from vehicles traveling in the fire lane. No sign shall be mounted higher that six feet from grade level. Any non-conforming sign shall be corrected.
   (c)    The curb area directly adjacent to all fire lanes shall be painted red. Where no curb exists, a four inch wide red stripe shall be painted along the edge of the fire lane closest to the structure. When the fire lane is directly adjacent to a building, and no curb exists, a four inch wide stripe shall be painted on the side of the building no more than five feet from grade level. For areas that do not conform to one of these situations, the Bureau shall determine the best application of this section.
   (d)    All markings shall be replaced at intervals necessary to ensure clear legibility and adequate visibility.
