1513.03 COMMERCIAL CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR REQUIREMENTS.
   (a)    Prior to the issuance of an occupancy permit by the City, carbon monoxide alarms must be installed in any commercial building which is equipped with a fuel-fired furnace, boiler, dryer, water heater, stove, range, or other such appliances. A carbon monoxide alarm shall be installed according to the manufacturer's recommendations pertaining to the number of alarms required in a particular unit, location of alarms, and all other recommendations. All carbon monoxide alarms installed pursuant to this section shall be listed with Underwriter's Laboratories, shall be 110 volt power models, and shall be installed by the builder, contractor, or other person responsible for the construction, remodeling, renovation, or occupancy of the structure.
   (b)    Carbon monoxide alarms shall be installed in all existing buildings used for human assembly and in all educational and other institutional structures which are equipped with fuel-fired appliances, such as boilers, furnaces, water heaters, dryers, or cooking appliances. All alarms installed pursuant to this section shall be listed with Underwriter's Laboratories, shall be 110 volt power model, and shall be installed by the person whose name appears on the present Certificate of Occupancy issued by the City for the said structure. All alarms shall be installed according to the manufacturer's recommendations pertaining to the number of alarms required in a particular structure, the location of alarms, as well as all other recommendations.
