For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply:
(a) "Board of Health" means the Cuyahoga County District Board of Health.
(b) "Department of Buildings" means the Building Inspector or his authorized assistant.
(c) "Sewage" means the liquid wastes from plumbing fixtures including the wastes from water closets, urinals, lavatories, baths, sinks, laundry tubs, floor drains and other sanitary fixtures.
(d) "Septic tank" means a watertight receptacle for receiving sewage from a sewer to which plumbing fixtures are tributary and it is synonymous to sewage tank, water cesspool and tank.
(e) "Leaching field" means an open, jointed system of tile through which the effluent of the septic tank is distributed beneath the surface for absorption into the soil.
