911.14 REGULATIONS FOR TREES IN TREE LAWNS.
   (a)   For purposes of this section, a “tree lawn” is defined as the area located between the curb of the public street and the edge of the public sidewalk, or in the event a public sidewalk does not exist, to the edge of the public right-of-way which has been dedicated to the City for public purposes.
   (b)   Trees in tree lawns shall be planted at intervals of not more than thirty-five feet nor less than twenty-five feet on centers, and shall have an initial diameter of two inches, measured at six inches above ground level. Trees shall be planted at least forty feet away from street intersections.
   (c)   Trees shall be planted in tree lawns in accordance with the “Planting Site Requirements for Small, Medium and Large Trees” of the Division of Forestry of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
   (d)   The trees planted in tree lawns shall be species which are resistant to damage, insect and disease, and not interfere with underground and overhead utilities, sidewalks and street lighting.
   Suggested species are:
   Red Maple (Acer Rubrum var., including Celebration)
   Sugar Maple (Acer Saccharum var.)
   Red Oak (Quercus Rubra var.)
   Thornless Honey Locust (Gleditsia Tri. Inermis var.)
   American Linden (Tillia Americana var.)
   Littleleaf Linden (Tillia Cordata var.)
   White Ash (Fraxinus American var.)
   Green Ash (Fraxinus Pennsylvanica var.)
   Zelcova Tree (Zelkova Serrata var.)
   Common Hackberry (Celtis Occidentalis var.)
   In addition to the foregoing list, the “Master List” of Street Trees compiled by the Division of Forestry of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources shall be utilized.
