A permit for the installation of a local alarm which, when activated, sounds a horn, bell, buzzer or other type of audible alarm, shall be required if the sound created by the alarm is audible beyond the premises being served. The Police Department shall issue a permit for such alarm provided the intensity of sound does not exceed 85 decibels at a distance of ten feet beyond the building line being served and, upon the payment of any permit fees required by this chapter.
