§ 91.09  IMPOUNDMENTS OF UNVACCINATED DOGS AND CATS.
   (A)   (1)   It shall be the duty of the Animal Commissioner to impound in the county pound any dog or cat which has not been vaccinated as provided in § 91.01.
      (2)   Any dog or cat which is found off of its owner’s premises and not under the control or supervision of its owner or his or her agent and which is not wearing a valid rabies tag shall be presumed not to be vaccinated until its owner or his or her agent presents evidence of vaccination required by § 91.01.
      (3)   Any dog or cat shall be held in the pound for a period of not more than five days, unless the dog or cat is rabid or suspected of being rabid, in which chase the dog or cat shall be held for further observation or destroyed humanely, pursuant to § 91.06, upon authorization of the County Health Director or any person charged with the enforcement of this subchapter.
   (B)   Any dog or cat impounded under this section which is not rabid or suspected of being rabid may be redeemed by the owner at licensing and vaccinating fees and any other fees or fines that may be required by the county of the pound before release of the dog or cat.
