§ 70.01  PARKING IN SPACES DESIGNATED FOR DISABLED PARKING.
   (A)   It is unlawful for any motor vehicle not displaying a license plate, decal, or special parking permit issued pursuant to VA Code Title 46.2, Chapter 12, and VA Code § 46.2-1241 to be parked in a parking space reserved for the disabled on public property or at privately owned parking areas. Any parking space marked with the words “Reserved for the Disabled”, “Disabled Parking Only”, or words of like effect and any parking space marked with the picture, drawing, or image of a wheelchair shall be presumed to be a parking space reserved for the disabled. For purposes of this section, any space not so marked shall not be deemed a parking space reserved for the disabled.
   (B)   Any police officer authorized to issue summonses for violation of other county ordinances may issue a summons for violation of this section without the necessity of a warrant being obtained by the owner of a private parking area where such police officer observes a violation of this section.
   (C)   This section was effective at 12:01 a.m. on April 9, 1984.
