In the county on and after July 1, 2002, a fee of $20 is hereby and shall be assessed as part of the cost against each defendant for each conviction or violation of a statute or ordinance which shall be collected by the Clerk of the Court with other cost. The Clerk shall remit the fees to the Treasurer of the county. The Treasurer shall hold such funds subject to appropriations by the County Board of Supervisors to the County Sheriff’s Office for the funding of courthouse security personnel.
