No sidewalk or curbing shall be constructed, altered or repaired without a permit issued by the Department of Codes and Planning for each purpose, and such improvements or repairs shall hereafter be built under the direction of and according to the specifications furnished by the Department of Codes and Planning. In no instance shall repair construction be of lesser quality and or dimensions than that of pre-existing sidewalks or curbing. New construction must adhere to subdivision regulation 343.4 which requires at least four feet of width, poured over a compacted four inch dense grade gravel sub-base.
