For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning. Terms used in this subchapter not defined herein shall have the meaning given them in 401 KAR 50:010.
FIRE CONTROL. Means that there is a method of extinguishment located within 20 feet of the fire area. That can be a water truck for large areas or a garden hose, water barrel or approved water extinguisher for fire pits.
GARBAGE. Animal and vegetable matter accumulated by a family in a residence in the course of ordinary day to day living.
HOUSEHOLD RUBBISH. Waste material and trash, not to include garbage, normally accumulated by a family in a residence in the course of ordinary day to day living.
OPEN BURNING. The burning of any matter in such a manner that the products of combustion resulting from the burning are emitted directly into the outdoor atmosphere without passing through a stack or chimney.
UNAPPROVED MATERIALS. Garbage, household rubbish, tires, sawn or pressure treated lumber, any material that is petroleum based such as oil, plastics, vinyl siding and the like or any material that will produce dense smoke. Burning of wire to expose the metal inside is prohibited.
