For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
REGULATED WASTE. Liquid or semi-liquid blood or other bodily secretions; contaminated items that would release blood or other bodily secretions in a liquid or semi-liquid state if compressed or in contact with moisture, items that are caked with dried blood or human bodily secretions and or capable of releasing these materials during handling; contaminated sharps (such as, but not limited to, injection needles and pathological or microbiological waste containing blood or other human bodily secretions).
