There is hereby created in the city a retirement and benefit fund for members of the Police and Fire Departments, their dependents and beneficiaries. The effective date of establishment of the fund is July 15, 1986 and it is known as “The Policeman's and Firefighter's Retirement Fund of the city.” All business of the fund shall be conducted in that name, all of its monies vested, accumulated reserves of cash, securities, or other property shall be held in that name.
