Sec. 2-311. Election, term and bond.
   The county auditor shall be elected to a term of four (4) years and until his successor is elected and qualified at each alternate general election reckoning from the election in the year 1978, and the governor may require such bond from such officer as he may deem necessary. When the auditor for any reason fails to complete his term of office, his successor shall be appointed initially for the unexpired portion of the term for which his predecessor was elected.
