145.03 DOG WARDEN.
   (a)   The position of Municipal Dog Warden is hereby created.
   (b)   The Dog Warden shall be a citizen of the United States; at least twenty-one years of age, and in good physical condition.
   (c)   The Dog Warden shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of Council and shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor, and may be dismissed or discharged by the Mayor with or without cause, and with or without consent of Council.
   (d)   The Dog Warden shall be responsible for the enforcement of Chapter 505, Animals and Fowl, in Part Five - General Offenses Code of these Codified Ordinances. The Dog Warden is also empowered to issue citations, serve writs and other legal processes issued by any court of competent jurisdiction within the Village.
   (e)   The Dog Warden shall be bonded, pursuant to the same conditions and requirements as a police officer of the Village.
   (f)   The Dog Warden shall receive, as compensation, such sum as may be designated by Council by proper legislation.
   (g)   The Dog Warden shall furnish his own vehicle, equipment and uniform, unless otherwise provided for by Council. (Ord. 71-1969. Passed 9-2-69.)
