No member of Council or an officer, member of a board or a commission or employee of the Municipality shall knowingly have any financial interest, direct or indirect, in any contract with or sale to the Municipality of any materials, supplies or services, or any land or interest in lands which would be incompatible with the discharge of that person’s official duties in the public interest or would tend to impair the performance of their official duties. Any such person violating the provision hereof shall forfeit their office and any such contract shall be voidable at the option of Council.
