Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code, Section 731.231, there is hereby adopted by and for the City the 2021 edition of the “NFPA 101 Life Safety Code (Code for Safety to Life from Fire in Buildings and Structures)”, hereinafter abbreviated as “NFPA 101,” prepared and promulgated by the National Fire Protection Association. The purpose of such Code, as adopted herein, is to prescribe regulations consistent with nationally recognized good practice for the safeguarding, to a reasonable degree, of life and property from hazards of fire and explosion arising from conditions hazardous to life or property in the use or occupancy of buildings or premises. Compliance with standards of the National Fire Protection Association or other approved nationally recognized standards shall be deemed to be primafacie evidence of compliance with this intent.
