In the event a well is to be abandoned, the owner or lessee shall notify the Building Inspector of such abandonment prior to when the well is abandoned and the equipment removed. The permit holder shall pull and/or plug a well site on abandonment and remove all above-ground appurtenances, return the ground to the original grade and condition and abide by all rules and regulations promulgated by the State of Ohio for the pulling, plugging and abandoning oil or gas wells. Landscaping may be preserved at the time of abandonment, if feasible, and if desired by the property owner.
