11-3-11: EXTENSION OF TENTATIVE PARCEL MAP APPROVAL:
   A.   Prior to the expiration of an approval or conditional approval of a tentative parcel map, the applicant may request an extension of the expiration date. An application for extension shall be made on the city's form and shall be filed with the department along with the fee established by the city council for application processing in its most current fee resolution. The application shall contain all information specified in subsection 11-2-9B of this title. The filing of an extension request shall automatically extend the tentative parcel map approval expiration date for sixty (60) days or until the extension request is approved, conditionally approved or disapproved, whichever occurs first.
   B.   Within thirty (30) days after an extension application is timely filed, the community development director shall make his report and recommendation to the planning commission.
   C.   The planning commission shall consider the extension application at its next regular meeting at which the application may be legally scheduled. The planning commission may grant extension of the expiration date for such period as the commission determines appropriate, provided that no individual extension shall exceed twelve (12) months and the total number of extensions shall not exceed five (5) years. In granting the extension, the planning commission may impose additional conditions or may amend previously imposed conditions of approval.
   D.   If the planning commission disapproves the approval extension application, the subdivider may appeal to the city council within fifteen (15) days after the commission's disapproval. (Ord. 2000-05, 4-25-2000)
