A. Delegation Of Authority: Various duties with respect to hearings, consideration and recommendations with respect to variances are hereby assigned and delegated to the planning commission, pursuant to the provisions of Government Code title 7, chapter 3, article 12.
B. Authority Of Commission: The commission shall have authority to grant variances, and to specify the terms and conditions thereof; subject to final approval by the city council. Any variance granted shall be subject to such conditions as will assure that the adjustment thereby authorized shall not constitute a grant of special privilege inconsistent with the limitations upon other properties in the vicinity in which the subject property is situated, and such other conditions as the commission deems necessary to carry out the purposes of this chapter. Action by the commission and city council in such cases shall be by resolution. (Ord. 350, 1962)
