10-24-2: DEFINITIONS:
For the purposes of this chapter, certain words and terms are herein defined as follows:
BUILDING AND IMPROVEMENT: Any building, structure or installation, whether located in, on, over or under the ground, and shall include, but shall not necessarily be confined to, the following: walls, fences other than open fences; wells for water, oil or other hydrocarbon products; tanks; off street parking facilities and spaces required by any ordinance of the city.
The term "building and improvement", as used herein shall not include or apply to the following: trees; shrubs; agricultural crops; open fences; public utilities installed under the provisions of law or franchise; walks; driveways; irrigation pipes and fixtures; off street parking facilities not required by an ordinance of the city; streets, curbs and other municipal facilities and installations.
CITY: The city of Reedley.
CITY COUNCIL: The city council of the city of Reedley.
COMMISSION: The planning commission of the city of Reedley.
FENCE, OPEN: A fence, fifty percent (50%) or more of the surface of which is open to the passage of light and vision on either, any and all horizontal planes or any and all vertical planes, perpendicular to the vertical surface thereof.
SETBACK LINE: A line established pursuant to this chapter in the manner mentioned in section 10-24-5 of this chapter. (Ord. 350, 1962)
