A. Area B: Area B shall be numbered according to a grid system. The base line of said system is hereby designated as follows:
1. Frankwood Avenue as the north-south axis; and
2. Springfield Avenue as the east-west base line.
As the city expands, the prolongation of said streets as base lines and the alignment of other streets and/or numbers therewith shall be followed as far as is practical.
B. Building Numbers:
1. Fifty (50) building numbers are hereby provided for each side of the street in each block. Sixteen (16) blocks are hereby designated for each section of a mile in length, whether said blocks exist or not. Beginning at the intersection of the base, Frankwood and Springfield Avenues, numbers shall be assigned at the rate of one hundred (100) numbers per block.
2. In order to conform this numbering system to the existing street pattern, the building official may increase or decrease the length of said blocks in order to accomplish the purposes of the grid system. Thus, the frontage per number assigned may vary with each block.
C. Odd And Even Numbers: Even numbers shall be assigned to the buildings located on the north and east sides of the streets in area B. Odd numbers shall be assigned to buildings located on the south and west sides of the streets in said area.
D. Street Orientation: Streets oriented north of the Springfield base line shall have a prefix "north", while streets south of the said base line, shall have a prefix "south". Streets oriented east of the Frankwood Avenue base line shall have a prefix "east", while streets west of said base line shall have a prefix "west".
E. Diagonal Streets: The numbering of diagonal streets shall be progressive and shall be numbered as provided above, i.e., one hundred (100) numbers per block. Depending on the degree of the diagonal, the frontage per number may expand.
F. Curved Streets: The building official shall assign a number according to this system as far as is practical and buildings on curved streets shall be assigned the number for the grid system at that point and said numbers shall progress according to the alignment of the streets.
