A. Buildings Located Back Of Property Line:
1. In all cases where the building is located on or back of the property line of the street on which the same fronts, the numbers may be placed or maintained either at the side of the main entrance, upon the porch or piazza, at the side of the gateway of said property, or upon any steps or other structure near and back of the property line thereof and shall be mounted in such a manner that the same may be plainly seen from the street in front of said property and in such a manner that the same will not be hidden from view from the street by any trees, shrubs or other obstructions, but not to exceed fifty feet (50') from the street.
2. Where two (2) or more houses are located on the same lot, the official shall assign separate cardinal numbers to each house. No fractional numbers shall be used.
B. Corner Lots: Buildings located on corner lots shall be assigned with appropriate numbers on that street having the main entrance.
C. Apartment Houses: Each apartment unit shall be numbered separately. In the event that separate cardinal numbers are not practical, letter designations, excepting letters "I" and "O", shall be used.
D. Areas Designated: For the purpose of assigning numbers to the buildings, the entire area is hereby divided into two (2) parts, namely, "A" and "B".
1. Group A is hereby designated as that portion of the city which was a part of the city at the date of incorporation, excepting and excluding therefrom avenues: North, South, East and Reed. Buildings in area A shall be assigned numbers in accordance with section 9-3-4 of this chapter.
2. Group B is hereby designated as: the balance of the city of Reedley; North, East, South and Reed Avenues and the extension of those streets east, west, north and south in the city and in the county of Fresno extending to, but not including, the following metropolitan boundary streets:
Englehart, Floral, Lac Jac and Adams Avenues. (Ord. 377, 5-4-1965)
