8-1-5: WATER RATES AND CHARGES:
   A.   Rates: Rates and compensation due the city for water service shall be that which the city council may by resolution determine, and all sums due said city by any consumer for water service, material or supplies, shall be due and payable at the office of the public works director.
   B.   Each Dwelling Separate: Each separate house or dwelling owned by one person shall be charged as one customer when tenanted.
   C.   Time Of Charges: Charges shall commence from the time when water is first turned on. But for separate periods, if less than a month the charge shall be prorated.
   D.   Discontinue Service: The charge for water shall continue and be paid until written notice of a desire to discontinue, signed by the owner of the property or his agent, shall be personally served on the public works director. Such notice shall be acknowledged by the signature of the public works director and returned to the owner at his request. (Ord. 30, 6-23-1914)
   E.   Service Fee: A service fee amount established by resolution of the city council will be assessed on all accounts that are processed for delinquent shutoff as provided in subsection 8-1-10A of this chapter. (Ord. 95-009, 6-13-1995)
   F.   Rates To Vacant Premises: Water rates will be charged for all vacant premises until the public works director has been notified, in writing, of the discontinuance of the use of the water and requested the service connection to be shut off. (Ord. 30, 6-23-1914)
