(A) Membership. The City Planning Commission shall consist of seven members. The City Engineer and the City Attorney shall be members ex-officio and the City Council shall select one member of the Commission from its own membership. The other four members shall be appointed and may be removed by the Council.
(B) Terms, vacancies, oath. Of the members of the Commission first appointed, one shall be appointed for a term of one year, one for a term of two years, one for a term of three years, and one for a term of four years. Their successors shall be appointed for terms of four years. Both original and successive appointees shall hold their offices until their successors are appointed and qualified. The terms of ex-officio members shall correspond to their respective official tenures. Vacancies during the term shall be filled by the Council for the unexpired portion of the term. Every appointed member shall before entering upon the discharge of his or her duties take oath that he or she will faithfully discharge the duties of his or her office. All members shall serve without compensation.
