Any person violating or convicted of violating any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, which has a fine of up to $1,000 and/or imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or both, plus costs of prosecution in any case or as permitted by state law. Persons violating any provision of this chapter may have their bicycles, skateboards or other violating device impounded for a period not to exceed seven days, at the discretion of the arresting officer.
