§ 24.47 STANDARDS OF OPERATION AND REQUIREMENTS.
   All swimming pools hereafter constructed in the city shall conform to the following standards of operation and equipment:
   (A)   All swimming pools shall be equipped with a filter of a capacity at least sufficient to clarify all of the water in the pool in a 24-hour period. The filter system shall meet the requirements and standards of the Health Department of the city.
   (B)   All swimming pools which are not equipped with a satisfactory filter at the time of the effective date of this section shall be made to comply with the requirements of this section, or in lieu of the filter, the entire house service including the swimming pool supply from the city system shall be metered. The city shall install the meter as may be required to properly measure the flow of the combined swimming pool and domestic usage. All water users on metered service shall be charged the current metered rates as provided by this chapter.
   (C)   In the operation of a swimming pool equipped with an adequate and proper filter system, it should be only occasionally necessary to discharge the swimming pool waters into the city sewer. Only the discharge as is necessary to maintain the cleanliness of the pool shall be permitted.
   (D)   In order to provide uniform sewer discharge for all swimming pools and to minimize the load on the city sewer and the danger of flooding of neighboring plumbing fixtures, the discharge opening from the swimming pool to the city sewer shall be limited to 1 inches. All swimming pools having a discharge opening larger than 1 inches at the time of passage of this article shall be modified to comply with the requirements of this section.
