§ 8.26 APPENDIX D: FIRE APPARATUS ACCESS ROADS.
   (A)   § D103.2 of Appendix D of the 2021 International Fire Code is amended to read as follows:
      (1)   Fire apparatus access roads shall not exceed 12 percent in grade.
         Exception:
         1.   Grades steeper than 12 percent, but not more than 15 percent as approved by the fire code official.
   (B)   § D103.3 of Appendix D of the 2021 International Fire Code is amended to read as follows:
      (1)   The minimum turning radius shall be an inner radius of 30 feet and an outer radius of 45 feet.
   (C)   § D103.4.1 of the 2021 International Fire Code is added to read as follows:
      (1)   Dead-end fire apparatus access roads in excess of 150 feet shall be provided with width and turnaround provisions in accordance with the local agency requirements for public streets or as approved by local standards.
   (D)   § D103.6 of the 2021 International Fire Code is amended to read as follows:
      (1)   Where required by the fire code official, fire apparatus access roads shall be marked with permanent NO PARKING-FIRE LANE signs that meet California Vehicle Code and fire department standards.
   (E)   § D104.2 of the 2021 International Fire Code is amended to delete the exception and read as follows:
      (1)   Buildings or facilities having a gross building area of more than 62,000 square feet shall be provided with two separate and approved fire apparatus access roads.
   (F)   § D106.1 of the 2021 International Fire Code is amended to delete the exception and read as follows:
      (1)   Multiple-family residential projects having more than 50 dwelling units shall be provided with two separate and approved fire apparatus access roads.
   (G)   § D106.2 of the 2021 International Fire Code is deleted.
   (H)   § D107.1 of the 2021 International Fire Code is amended to read as follows:
      (1)   Projects having more than 50 dwelling units shall be provided with two separate and approved fire apparatus access roads.
   (I)   § D107.1 exception set forth in the 2021 International Fire Code are deleted.
