(A) Pursuant to the Transactions and Use Tax Ordinance of 2014, the city currently levies a 0.25% transactions and use tax. Under the terms of that ordinance, the city’s authority to levy that tax terminates on March 31, 2021.
(B) The intent of Transactions and Use Tax Extension Ordinance of 2018 is to ensure that a 0.25% transactions and use tax continues to be levied in the city, without interruption, upon the expiration of the existing tax.
